How to rehab an ankle ligament injury

Rehabilitation training for ankle ligament injury includes early rehabilitation, medium-term rehabilitation and final rehabilitation.
1. Early rehabilitation: passive ankle flexion and extension exercises, patients take the supine position, maximum passive flexion and extension within the painless range of the ankle joint; active ankle plantarflexion, dorsiflexion, external and internal rotation exercises, patients take the supine position, carry out the ankle plantarflexion, dorsiflexion, external and internal rotation exercises with uniform speed and without resistance.
2. Intermediate rehabilitation: ankle extension and flexion elastic band strength exercises, patients take the supine position or sitting position, use the elastic band to perform ankle extension and flexion strength exercises, can be practiced in the non-weight-bearing position first, and then transitioned to the weight-bearing position as soon as possible; proprioception exercises patients take the standing position, keep the upper body stable, one side of the foot supported on the ground, the other side of the calf will be lifted up.
3. Terminal rehabilitation: power cycling exercises with the patient in a seated position, low resistance, fast, maximum flexion and extension of the ankle joint without causing pain; toe-rolling towel exercises, with the patient in a seated position, with the toes of the towel grasping the towel to the highest point to maintain a few seconds.
Ankle ligament injuries are recommended to be rehabilitated under the guidance of doctors and therapists to avoid delays.
