Early signs and symptoms of spinal cord tumors

Early symptoms of spinal cord tumor manifest as limitation of movement, sphincter dysfunction, neuropathic pain, sensory numbness and so on.
1. Restricted movement: people suffering from spinal cord tumor usually feel weak in limbs and show progressive weakness, that is to say, they will feel weaker and weaker and have more and more difficulties in walking, and this symptom will become more and more serious and difficult to be relieved, which will lead to paralysis in serious cases.
2. Sphincter dysfunction: with the disease of spinal cord tumor, there will be abnormalities of urination and defecation in the early stage, such as difficulty in urination and defecation, and even urinary incontinence in serious cases.
3. Neuropathic pain: spinal cord tumor will compress the nerves, which often leads to the increase of asymmetry of limbs, and the compressed side is often accompanied by neuropathic pain, which is the most obvious at night, and the pain will be aggravated and unbearable in the case of sudden exertion such as coughing, position change and so on.
4. Sensory numbness: people with spinal cord tumor are prone to numbness, such as coldness, decreased sense of temperature or separation of sense of touch.
