Can early stage breast cancer be cured?

Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors among women, accounting for 7%-10% of all malignant tumors in China, and is on the rise year by year. Early symptoms of breast cancer are not typical and are mostly discovered unintentionally or during physical examination. Breast cancer is a chronic disease, and early treatment is mainly surgery-based comprehensive treatment, as long as early detection can achieve the purpose of clinical cure, and the five-year recurrence rate is relatively low. The treatment methods are as follows: 1. (1) Mastectomy with breast preservation: suitable for patients in clinical stage I and II, especially for those with tumors less than 3-4 cm and with appropriate breast volume, who can maintain the appearance after surgery. (2) Modified radical mastectomy for breast cancer: It is the most commonly used surgical method nowadays. It is suitable for clinical stage I, II and microscopic cancer. (3) Radical mastectomy and extended radical mastectomy: nowadays, it is rarely used and is the most early surgical method. (4) Total mastectomy: It is suitable for in situ cancer, microscopic cancer and those who are too old and weak to undergo radical surgery. 2.Radiotherapy: After local excision of primary breast cancer combined with axillary lymph node removal, cut-line irradiation of breast area is required. Radiotherapy after radical surgery can be effective in controlling local attacks. 3. Systemic treatment: including adjuvant endocrine therapy and adjuvant chemotherapy for women before and after menopause. The 5-year survival rate of early stage breast cancer is over 98%, and many early stage patients can be cured without recurrence or metastasis. The key is early detection and early treatment, and we should pay attention to regular medical checkups. In China, breast ultrasound combined with mammography is generally recommended as a screening method.
