Can liver fibrosis lead to cirrhosis?

In the clinical work of many doctors, we often encounter patients who are confused by certain pharmaceutical propaganda and confuse the concept of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. In fact, liver fibrosis is the result of abnormal proliferation of fibrous connective tissue in the liver when liver cells are damaged. When the damage is aggravated, the structure of lobules in the liver is altered, pseudobullets are formed, and the texture of the liver becomes hard, then cirrhosis forms. Therefore, cirrhosis is developed from liver fibrosis, which is a different stage of lesion development. Therefore the prevention and treatment of early cirrhosis is very important.
