Health education for fractures is important throughout the entire process of fracture treatment and for the patient’s recovery. When the patient is first admitted to the hospital or in the early preoperative period, the patient should be informed of what type of fracture he or she has, what preoperative exercises he or she should engage in, and what activities should be prohibited as much as possible. Once the condition is diagnosed, the patient should be informed of the possible next treatment modalities and how the patient should cooperate. What functional exercises should be performed in the early stage to facilitate the healing of the fracture, what functional exercises should not be performed because they may cause displacement of the fracture, what exercises are beneficial for the recovery of muscle strength, etc. In terms of dietary therapy, we should inform patients what kind of food they should eat more often and what kind of food they should eat less often, for example, foods rich in protein, calcium and vitamin D should be used more often, while fried foods and foods with high fat content should be consumed less often.
