There are more reasons for the numbness of the two calves, such as lumbar intervertebral disc herniation, arteriosclerosis occlusive disease of the lower limbs, cerebral infarction and so on.
1. Lumbar intervertebral disc herniation: it is because the various parts of the lumbar intervertebral discs, especially the nucleus pulposus, have different degrees of degenerative changes, and under the action of external factors, leading to the intervertebral disc fibrous ring rupture, the nucleus pulposus tissue protrudes from the rupture place, leading to the adjacent spinal nerve roots suffer from irritation and compression, which leads to lumbar pain, numbness of the lower extremities, pain and other uncomfortable symptoms.
2. Lower limb arteriosclerosis: Because of arteriosclerosis, the inner membrane of the arteries supplying blood to the lower limbs is thickened and the lumen is narrowed, which can cause insufficient blood supply to the diseased limbs, thus leading to numbness, intermittent claudication, pain and other uncomfortable symptoms.
3. Cerebral infarction: it is a common cerebrovascular disease, because of the blood circulation in the brain, ischemia, hypoxia and the phenomenon of ischemic necrosis and softening of the brain tissue caused by the limitation, due to focal neurological deficits, which can lead to numbness of the limbs, hemiplegia and other discomfort symptoms.
The causes of numbness in both calves are many, and it is not possible to judge by one symptom alone, so it is necessary to go to the hospital in time.
