In recent months, with the introduction of bone anchored hearing aids (BAHA) and vibro-acoustic bridges (VSB) into China, improving hearing in patients with congenital atresia is no longer a problem. In 2010, the International Hearing Implant Summit was held in Beijing from August 19 to 21, 2010, and two patients with bilateral congenital atresia underwent vibroacoustic bridge implantation at the ENT Department of the PLA General Hospital in cooperation with domestic and foreign experts. For smaller children, BAHA (soft band) can be used without surgery to achieve a very good hearing effect, which is far superior to hearing aids. The introduction of the BAHA and the Vibrating Sound Bridge (VSB) is a boon to patients with congenital ear deformities and external ear malformations.
