Artificial insemination (AI) is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) that uses non-coital delivery of sperm into the female reproductive tract for the purpose of impregnating a woman. Artificial insemination (AI) is an assisted reproductive technology (ART) that uses non-coital delivery of sperm into the female reproductive tract for the purpose of conceiving a woman. According to the source of the sperm, AI can be divided into artificial insemination by husband sperm (AIH) and artificial insemination by donor sperm (AID) from a third party sperm. According to the different insemination sites, such as vaginal, cervical canal, uterine cavity, fallopian tube and abdominal cavity, they are called intravaginal artificial insemination (IVI), intracervical canal artificial insemination (ICI), intrauterine insemination (IUI) and intrafallopian tube artificial insemination (IFI), respectively. In vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) is often called “in vitro fertilization” in Chinese folklore. In fact, in vitro fertilization is a special technique in which both eggs and sperm are taken outside the body and allowed to complete the fertilization process in an artificially controlled environment outside the body, and then the early embryos are transferred to the woman’s uterus, where they are conceived and become children. The babies produced using in vitro fertilization techniques are called IVF, and these children also grow up in the mother’s womb. It can be said that the “IVF technique” is equivalent to “in vitro fertilization”. Prior to IVF, the couple should undergo a physical examination to rule out infectious diseases affecting the fetus and contraindications to pregnancy for the woman. The fundamental purpose is to ensure that the mother is competent for the pregnancy process, to avoid infectious diseases in the baby, and to ensure the safety of the mother and the baby. According to the regulations of China’s assisted reproductive technology management, both men and women who undergo assisted reproductive technology treatment in our center generally undergo the following basic examinations: 1. Female side physical examination items: blood routine + blood type (ABO, RH), liver and kidney function, fasting blood sugar, blood lipid, blood sedimentation, five items of hepatitis B, hepatitis C, syphilis, HIV, urine routine, electrocardiogram, cervical secretion chlamydia, mycoplasma, gonococcus; 2. Male partner examination items: semen routine, semen chlamydia, mycoplasma, gonococcus, blood routine + blood type (ABO, RH), hepatitis B five, hepatitis C, syphilis, HIV. If IVF treatment is needed, both men and women should have chromosome examination.
