Can I recover from an exposed tooth root?

It is very unlikely that root exposures caused by periodontal disease will recover on their own. It is difficult to return to its original form due to the limited ability of the alveolar bone and gums to regenerate and repair.
If the root is exposed due to apical inflammation, aggressive root canal treatment or surgical procedures such as removal of the lesion and adjacent impacted teeth, waiting for the wound to heal and the bone tissue to rebuild, the root will be encapsulated again.
