Pregnancy and childbirth in a patient with complex congenital heart disease after surgery

The patient, Li, 24 years old, had a complex precordial heart (complete atrioventricular access and transposition of the great arteries) and underwent total pulmonary artery diversion in our department in 2001, and had a cesarean section in our obstetrics and gynecology department in 2005 (December).
In addition, there are many other cases of patients after mechanical valve replacement who also delivered successfully in our hospital, and their mothers and children are safe now. Sun Zongquan, Department of Cardiac Surgery, Wuhan Union Medical College Hospital
Cardiac surgery does not prevent patients from getting married, getting pregnant or giving birth, but patients must keep in touch with their doctors at all times and be supervised by them.
It is a rare case in China where a complex precordial heart was delivered successfully by full cavity pulmonary artery diversion.
