A prescription for Ba Zhen Tang and Hua Jie Wan with additions and subtractions

The addition and subtraction of Bazhen Tang and Huaji Pill should be done by the physician according to the clinical symptoms, yin deficiency can be added with yin nourishing drugs such as Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, qi deficiency can be added with qi tonic drugs such as Astragalus, and yang deficiency can be added with yang tonic drugs such as Pseudostellariae.
The composition of Ba Zhen Tang is Angelica sinensis, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae, Radix et Rhizoma Ginseng, Poria, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Glycyrrhizae. It is mainly used for those with deficiency of qi and blood, while the composition of Huaji Pill is Curcuma longa, Xiang Fu, Wei, Sumac, Wu Ling Zhi, San Ling, Hai Fu Shi, Xiong Huang, Betel nut, and Coriolus Versicolor. The main effects are activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, softening and eliminating stagnation. Adverse effects are not clear, and it is contraindicated in pregnant women.
For dizziness, scanty moss, fine pulse (pulse becoming narrow and thin and accelerated), add Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix Panax Ginseng, Dendrobium officinale; for bleeding gums, epistaxis, add Radix Dandenong Pi, Radix Bupleurum Chinense, Radix Panax Ginseng; for chills and swollen limbs, pale tongue with white moss, and fine pulse, add Radix Astragali, Radix et Rhizoma Polygonati Odorati.
