Most patients who use synthetic drugs will encounter the problem of sleep disorder. For a long time, many patients and their families have asked me for advice on this issue, and the causes and symptoms vary. Here I will make a summary of this issue, I hope it will be helpful to you. The more popular synthetic drugs on the market today include methamphetamine, marijuana, ketamine, marijuana, and so on. Ketamine and marijuana are mainly hallucinogenic (leading to hallucinations) and are supplemented by euphoria, so the severity of insomnia is not too heavy. The prerequisite for treatment is detoxification. If detoxification is successful, the sleep problem will be cured. Methamphetamine and methamphetamine are both amphetamine-type drugs, which are central stimulants that lead to an overall euphoria after taking them, more talk, more action, irritability and impulsiveness, emotional instability, sexual hyperactivity, no hunger, feeling energetic, and no need for sleep at all. This condition lasts for 24-48 hours, and without continued drug use, most patients experience drowsiness that lasts for several days after this, waking up with depressed mood, anxiety, irritability, and a strong sense of drug craving, seeking to take drugs again, and then falling into a vicious cycle. And for some patients who have the will to quit and do not take drugs again, they will fall into anxiety, struggle with various bad emotions, and experience different degrees of sleep disturbance. Some patients also experience severe psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations and delusions, as a result of methamphetamine use, and these symptoms can seriously affect the patient’s sleep. These sleep disorders are roughly divided into three categories: 1, difficulty falling asleep: patients go to bed for a long time, it is difficult to fall asleep, tossing and turning is not able to enter the sleep state, or the mind is awake completely no sleep, playing cell phones and computers overnight. 2, poor sleep quality: patients can enter sleep, but the depth of sleep is not enough, can not enter effective sleep, dreamy and easy to wake up, sleep like watching a movie, the next day after waking up feeling tired poor spirit. 3.Early awakening: Although you can fall asleep, but the sleep time is short, often waking up in the early morning, and it is difficult to fall asleep again after waking up, and feel irritable and restless, with abnormally low mood. Some patients have only one of the above three conditions, and some have all three. For different sleep disorder treatment method medication is also different, and before treatment need to do some necessary tests. Routine examinations include mental examination, routine blood and biochemical examination, ECG, EEG, and for patients with severe insomnia, brain evoked potential examination and long-range sleep monitoring are recommended. According to the patient’s symptom performance combined with the examination results, the patient can be given targeted treatment: 1, sleep therapy device: this is a treatment method for patients with mild to moderate insomnia, easy to operate, convenient, non-invasive, safe without side effects, and will not produce dependence. Patients can receive treatment 1-2 times a day for 15-20 minutes each time, and after 1-2 courses of treatment (10-15 days each), most patients’ sleep conditions can be effectively improved. 2.Chinese medicine treatment: also for patients with mild to moderate insomnia, with small side effects, safe and non-addictive characteristics, but the effect is slow and inconvenient to take. 3.Western medicine treatment: there are many kinds of drugs, which can be applied to various types of insomnia in a targeted manner, and are effective for mild to moderate insomnia. 4, other treatments: such as exercise therapy, diet therapy, psychotherapy, etc. are effective for mild to moderate insomnia, but the effect is slow and difficult to adhere to. At present, the dominant clinical treatment is still Western medicine, it is recommended that patients should take drugs under the guidance of doctors, and should have some knowledge of drug use: 1, avoid the use of strong drugs at the beginning, especially benzodiazepines, such as clonazepam, alprazolam, nitro Valium, diazepam (Valium), Lola and other drugs, Shule Valium (Eszopiclone) should also be used with caution. 2.At present, non-benzodiazepines are often preferred internationally, such as zopiclone, zolpidem and other drugs, which are relatively less addictive. 3, no matter what kind of sleeping drugs are not recommended for long-term use, if you have to drug assistance to fall asleep is also recommended to change the drug every 15 days or so, so as to avoid the same drug failure or dependence. 4, do not feel that a drug is not as effective as in the past and arbitrarily increase the dosage, but should promptly seek medical advice to change the medication; when you feel that the efficacy of maintaining a fair amount can be gradually reduced, reduce the dosage every day or every other day can be taken. Insomnia is very painful, but not impossible to solve, timely medical treatment is the key, do not take drugs on their own, I wish you all have a good sleep every day!
