Is 37 degrees a fever?

A body temperature of 37℃ is not considered a fever. The normal human body temperature is between 36℃ and 37℃. A body temperature higher than 37℃ is considered a fever, and it is necessary to clarify the cause as soon as possible and take appropriate measures to lower the temperature. Under normal conditions, the body temperature is constant, i.e., it is maintained at 37℃ and above, and will not change due to changes in the external environment and temperature. However, the body temperature is not fixed and can fluctuate with changes in gender, age, day and night, exercise and emotion, but such fluctuations are usually within the normal range. For example, the body temperature is lower when quiet, higher when active, lowest in the morning from 2:00 to 6:00, and highest in the afternoon from 2:00 to 8:00, but the fluctuation range is about 0.6℃. Young children have a slightly higher body temperature than adults because of the unstable function of the thermoregulatory center and a more vigorous metabolism. However, whether it is an adult or a child, the body temperature is roughly between 36.2℃-37.2℃, and only if it exceeds this range is it a fever. Therefore, a body temperature of 37°C is normal and not considered a fever. If it is exactly at 37°C, it is recommended to take another measurement. Also observe whether the patient has any uncomfortable symptoms. If there are uncomfortable symptoms, you can drink more water, pay attention to rest and monitor the temperature to see if it continues to increase.
