Many breast cancer patients will live in fear for a long time after surgery. Fear stems primarily from the fear of recurrence of the disease. Some studies have shown that close to 100% of patients often worry about tumor recurrence after the initial treatment is over, nearly 70% of patients have significant fear, and more than 40% of patients are still very worried about tumor reappearance three years after the disease treatment. In the clinical research data that I have, both nationally and internationally, breast cancer is treated very well. On the one hand, breast cancer is a very mild tumor, which has a low chance of distant metastasis. On the other hand, worldwide, we have researched breast cancer very thoroughly, and the treatment is abundant and effective, so that most breast cancer patients achieve a cure. At present, international bulk epidemiological surveys show that the overall cure rate of breast cancer is close to 60%. Recent statistics in Shanghai: the current five-year disease-free survival rate of breast cancer patients in Shanghai is about 80%. In a multicenter study on endocrine therapy (MA-27 trial) in several European and American countries, 7,576 patients were followed up for a median of 4.1 years, and 91% of patients survived in good health. In my personal clinical practice, the five-year disease-free survival rate of patients and the overall survival rate is even higher than the above data. Of course this conclusion should be biased. Because the accuracy of my follow-up review is a bit lower, some patients with recurrent metastases will be missed. But I think our data should be at least close to this level. Keep in mind that among all the patients including those who found their tumors very late and staged very late, some of them had distant metastases when they were found, very large tumors, tumor rupture, high number of axillary lymph node metastases, etc. So, believe me, the prognosis of breast cancer is very good. To put it in another way simply, a person with normal body living in fear and depression all day long, he will soon fall sick. Personally, I have always believed that there are two levels of human balance: one is mental balance and the other is physical balance. With a good balance of the body, the immunity will be high, and the ability to resist viruses and bacteria will be strong, and the ability to inhibit tumor cells from multiplying will be strong, so it will not be easy to recur. Fear and depression will not help us at all. Suppose our disease is going to come back, will our worries help us? So, please let go of the fear in our hearts, most of us are already cured!
