Breast cancer is now one of the most common malignant tumors among women, and its incidence is increasing year by year, seriously affecting women’s health. At present, the treatment of breast cancer is still mainly surgery, supplemented by chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy. Among all treatment methods, early radical resection is the key to cure breast cancer. At present, most hospitals in China still adopt radical resection for breast cancer. With the development of society and the continuous improvement of people’s living standard, women have higher and higher requirements for physical beauty, and breast is the most important organ that constitutes the physical characteristics of women. If a woman has a breast removed, the destruction of her shape is very serious. Most patients will feel that they are a defective person and have an inferiority complex, which not only affects the life between husband and wife, but also affects social activities, which is a considerable blow to her. Moreover, whenever she sees her missing breast, she is always reminded that she is a cancer patient, and this shadow can also affect her health. The resulting long-term psychological trauma can seriously affect the quality of life. In order to improve the quality of life of breast cancer patients, i.e. to enable radical resection of the tumor while maintaining the aesthetic shape of the breast, we have designed and pioneered the study of one-stage breast reconstruction with subcutaneous radical latissimus dorsi fat flap for breast cancer since February 1996 in China, and its cosmetic effect has reached the international leading level. The operation was awarded the second prize of the National Medicine and Health Excellent Achievement Award in 2001. The operation has the following advantages: 1. The operation preserves the skin, nipple and areola of the whole breast, and the reconstructed breast has a very beautiful and realistic appearance, which is basically the same as the healthy side of the breast and almost shows the signs that the patient has undergone surgery. 2. The incision is small, hidden and beautiful, and basically invisible from the front. 3. The success rate of surgery is high and there is no risk of failure of breast reconstruction. 4. The surgical method is reasonably designed, safe and simple to operate, with short operation time and very little bleeding, less than 100ml on average. 5. There is no obvious deformity in the area of the latissimus dorsi flap, and there is no obvious impact on the function of the affected upper limb. 6.The reconstructed breast is made of own tissue, no post-operative foreign body reaction, good handfeel and no obvious difference from normal breast. 7. The surgery is performed on the basis of radical excision of breast cancer, so the chance of local recurrence after surgery is small and the surgery is safe. 8. Since the tumor has been radically removed, the reconstructed breast does not need radiotherapy after surgery, and there are no complications such as radiotherapy dermatitis of the breast skin, radiotherapy pneumonia, and breast atrophy and hardening, saving high radiotherapy costs. 9.The surgery is completed in one phase, avoiding the pain of the second surgery and saving the medical cost of the second hospitalization. 10.Post-operative does not affect other treatments, and other adjuvant treatments are carried out normally.
