The type of spots in the corners of the eyes at the age of 30 may be freckles, chloasma or, in a few patients, age spots.
Freckles are genetically related, often occurring after puberty, and can be triggered or aggravated by UV exposure.
Melasma has a complex etiology and is associated with genetics, endocrine disorders, sun exposure, cosmetics, oral contraceptives, phototoxic drugs or anti-epileptic drugs.
The exact cause of age spots is still unclear and mostly occurs in older people, but individually it can start to occur gradually at the age of 30.
