How long does it take for symptoms to appear after HIV infection

Usually, about 2-4 weeks after the initial infection, a proportion of infected patients will suffer from acute damage to the immune system due to viremia caused by the replication of the virus in the blood, followed by the development of clinical symptoms. The most common of these symptoms is fever, which usually does not exceed 38 degrees Celsius. Fever may be accompanied by swollen lymph nodes, rash, joint pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, sore throat, general malaise, etc. Most of these symptoms are mild and may resolve on their own in about 1-3 weeks. When these symptoms appear, you should go to the hospital promptly for examination, and the diagnosis can be confirmed by taking blood tests for HIV-RNA and P24 antigen.
