The spine, the pillar that supports the entire body, is not simply a straight line, but is curved laterally in an S-shape. The entire spine begins in the cervical spine at the cricoaxial spine and ends in the pelvis; the cricoaxial spine and the sacroiliac joints are two key areas that used to be considered tricky no-go areas and the sacroiliac joints were considered the most stable joints in the human skeleton. Other than obvious abnormalities, physicians rarely noticed their impact on the overall spinal structural abnormalities. Chiropractic considers any displacement of these two critical areas to cause compensatory adaptation of the entire spine to mechanical changes at the upper and lower ends. By paying attention to a single symptomatic spine and not seeing the dominant effect at both ends, the ‘wringing the towel’ effect, you will not get to the root of the spinal problem. With the head on top of the spine, the torso supported in the middle, and the activities of the limbs held in check, plus the influence of the earth’s gravity, it is not easy for the spine not to become misaligned under such a heavy load, and it is even less easy for a misalignment to occur without affecting the up and down parallel positions of neighboring vertebrae as well. Therefore, chiropractic believes that 100 percent of people have spinal disorders, only the degree of performance is different. In summary, chiropractic starts from a balanced and holistic view of human health, and further reconceptualizes the mechanical structure of the spine and spinal column, paying particular attention to the study of areas neglected in modern medicine. As a result, it has developed its own unique theoretical system for common diseases and pathologies of the spine and spinal column, as well as corresponding treatment methods, which have been and are being confirmed by an increasing number of clinical practices. It should be noted that chiropractic has repeatedly cognized and discussed spinal and spinal disorders from the whole to the local and from the local to the whole; from structure to function and from function to structure, throughout the entire process of treatment of spinal and spinal disorders. This is similar to the traditional Chinese medical cognition of disease, except that the process of chiropractic is based on modern science such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, and biomechanics, which is easier for people to understand and accept. Currently, the popularity and promotion of chiropractic in China is still emerging, and research in the basic theory of chiropractic needs to be further strengthened. Many new ideas brought by chiropractic also need to be considered, borrowed, tested and corrected by colleagues. We hope that through our joint efforts, we can make this flower outside the wall take root, sprout, blossom and bear fruit in our motherland.
