Leukostimulants are classified as general leukostimulants, hormonal leukostimulants and granulocyte colony-stimulating factors.
Bone marrow suppression and low leukocyte levels are common adverse effects of chemotherapy. Therefore, leukostimulant treatment is often required for patients with low leukocyte levels during treatment. Leukostimulants are divided into general leukostimulants, hormones and granulocyte colony-stimulating factors.
1. There are many kinds of general leukostimulants, but the actual effect is not obvious or it takes a long time to take effect. For patients with acute myelosuppression after chemotherapy, these drugs are basically not used, and the common leukostimulants are such as leukostimulants, vitamin B4, shark liver alcohol, berberamine, etc.
2. Hormonal drugs are mostly androgens, estrogens, etc. Physiological studies have shown that androgens have the effect of promoting the production of red blood cells by EPO, but they are not commonly used in chemotherapy patients.
3. For patients with bone marrow suppression after chemotherapy, cytokine drugs such as granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) or granulocyte-monocyte colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) are commonly used.
