Proper Exercises for Lumbar Spinal Stenosis

The correct exercise methods for lumbar spinal stenosis include glute bridges, plate supports, and supine leg raises.
In order to improve and relieve lumbar spinal stenosis, strengthen the lumbar back muscle strength and maintain the normal physiological curvature of the lumbar spine part. All of the following exercises can achieve the purpose of strengthening the lumbar back muscle strength, as follows:
1. Hip bridge exercise: the patient takes a lying position, the low back muscles exert force to lift the buttocks off the ground, like an arch bridge, which can strengthen the muscle strength around the spine and improve the symptoms.
2. Plate support: take the prone position, use the toes of both feet and forearms to support their own weight, arms bent at ninety degrees below the shoulders, to keep the body in a straight line. Can exercise the core muscles of the spine, to achieve the purpose of stabilizing the spine, increase spinal stability, can better relieve low back pain, and then relieve the lower extremities caused by the small volume of the spinal canal, numbness and swelling.
3. Supine leg lifting: patients take the lying position, legs lifted at the same time, and then slowly put down, repeat, can enhance the core muscle strength.
In addition, swimming can reduce the pressure on the lumbar spine, which can help the recovery of the condition.
Patients with lumbar spinal stenosis are advised to consult a doctor in time, and under the guidance of a professional physician to carry out rehabilitation exercises in a gradual manner.
