What do antisperm antibodies mean?

Antisperm antibodies are antibodies that can fight against sperm, and the presence of antisperm antibodies in both men and women can lead to sterility and infertility.
1. Antisperm antibodies are antibodies that resist sperm. If antisperm antibodies are present in a woman’s body, when sperm enters her body, the antisperm antibodies will phagocytose the sperm, lowering the sperm’s survival rate, decreasing its activity, and interfering with the combination of the sperm and the egg, making the embryo develop abnormally and become prone to miscarriage, thus leading to infertility.
2. If antisperm antibodies exist in the male body, the sperm will be recognized as foreign objects by the antisperm antibodies, making it difficult for the sperm to survive, and at the same time, the antibodies will combine with the sperm, reducing the sperm’s motility, and at the same time, causing local inflammatory reactions, blocking the vas deferens and affecting the output of sperm, resulting in oligo spermatospermia, which will lead to infertility.
Men and women of childbearing age who have antisperm antibodies in their bodies but have a need for fertility are recommended to go to a hospital specialist for treatment.
