The process from unconsciousness to awakening is different for each patient after a traumatic car accident. In the case of a concussion, the patient may be unconscious for a very short period of time, usually waking up within half an hour. In the case of craniocerebral trauma, if the patient has an intracranial hematoma, the coma may be prolonged accordingly, and the patient may remain in a coma for a week, and then slowly wake up after a month or so. If the brainstem is injured, the patient is in a deep coma, a moderate coma or even a deep coma, it is possible that he or she will not wake up and will not be able to regain consciousness for more than six months to a year, and can be judged as a vegetative state; if it is a mild coma, most of them will be able to wake up in about a month, and the chances of waking up after a month will gradually decrease. Don’t be in a hurry.
