Is the pain after surgery a problem with the wound?

Many patients, after being discharged from the hospital and going home for a period of time, have problems with wound pain, and some patients are still having wound pain several months after surgery. Some patients are still having wound pain even months after surgery. Many of our patients are worried that the wound has not grown well or the tumor has recurred during the review. In fact, the vast majority of wound pain is still a normal phenomenon of wound recovery. The fact that the wound is fully grown does not mean that the nerve function is fully recovered, so even a few months after the operation, the wound pain is still normal. Especially when it is windy and rainy, and the weather becomes cold and hot, the pain will be more obvious, which is manifested as a kind of numbness and swelling of the wound, which are normal phenomena. With the passage of time, these symptoms will gradually reduce, but it is unlikely to disappear completely. So don’t worry too much if your wound is still painful even after a few months have passed. Just contact and communicate with your primary care physician more often.
