How to take proper care after cataract surgery?

Cataract is a sight restoration surgery and most of the patients’ vision can be improved significantly after surgery. However, some patients do not have proper eye drops and review after surgery, resulting in vision loss again, and in serious cases, even postoperative infection leading to blindness. 2.Control blood sugar and blood pressure before and after surgery. 3. Avoid lowering the head and bumping the operated eye for a short period of time to avoid bleeding in the anterior chamber, displacement of the IOL, increased intraocular pressure and other complications. 4. Observe the postoperative eye reaction. If there is obvious swelling and pain in the eye, combined with headache, nausea and other symptoms, or if there is a significant decrease in visual acuity, a sudden increase in eye discharge and other changes in the condition, it is necessary to go to the hospital for treatment in a timely manner. 5, postoperative diet pay attention to reduce the intake of seafood, spicy and stimulating food, easy to digest food and fresh vegetables, fruits, to avoid causing constipation. 6, post-operative correct eye drops: pay attention to hygiene, wash your hands, lie on your back or head up, look in the direction of the head, gently pull the lower eyelid or separate the upper and lower eyelids with one hand, take the eye drops with the other hand, the mouth of the bottle should be more than 5 mm away from the eye, drop the eye drops to the surface of the eye and close the eye lightly for 5 to 10 minutes to let the drops in the eye fully play, then screw the cap to prevent the eye drops from being contaminated. 7. It is very important to use the eye drops strictly according to the doctor’s instructions after surgery. However, some patients do not go to the hospital for review on schedule due to mobility problems and buy these eye drops on their own or have their family members buy them on their behalf for long-term use, which is actually very risky. 8. Regular postoperative review is also very important. Cataract surgery cannot treat all eye diseases, and some eye diseases may still develop further and aggravate after cataract surgery. Patients with glaucoma also need to come to the hospital for regular review after surgery, because the high eye pressure of glaucoma can cause irreversible damage to the optic nerve, and some people can have no feeling of high eye pressure, and some people even wait until they are blind before coming to the hospital.
