What is hand sweating disorder?

Hand sweating is a fairly common functional localized abnormal sweating, mostly associated with sympathetic hyperactivity. However, the symptoms often cause problems at school, work or socially and are treated. Most people with hand sweating develop it as children and it becomes more severe in adolescence. People with hyperhidrosis tend to have wet palms most of the time, which can be very damaging to the hands. Adolescents are afraid to hold hands with others and have problems shaking hands. In severe cases, the palms of the hands may even develop eczema and dermatitis. As adults, they have trouble working and socializing. Patients with hand sweating often have a combination of hand and foot sweating. This has a serious impact on life, work, normal relationships and marriage, and most importantly, creates an inexplicable psychological burden and fear when approaching people. Although hand sweating is not a serious disease, the constant sweating and the embarrassment it causes makes the patient helpless, anxious or panic-stricken every day, causing great inconvenience to the patient’s work, social life and life, and seriously affecting the patient’s self-confidence. The patient’s psychological suffering is so great that it is difficult for ordinary people to understand. There are two types of treatment for hand sweating: medication and surgery. Internal medication is prone to side effects, while external application of medication is inconvenient because it has to be applied frequently. Currently surgical treatment is the best and most convenient way. Traditional open heart has been eliminated. Hangzhou First Hospital adopts needle thoracoscopic thoracic sympathectomy with a 5mm surgical incision, with almost invisible scars and very beautiful. The majority of patients with symptoms disappear immediately after surgery. The cure rate is high and the return to normal work life is fast. The pain that has been troubling the patient for a long time disappears immediately, and the patient’s self-confidence increases rapidly, and he or she can soon dissolve into normal social life, interpersonal communication and work. Psychometric studies have also found significant improvements in the psychological health of post-operative patients.
