How can I protect myself and those around me from chemotherapy drugs?

Most of the chemotherapy drugs in your body will be degraded or excreted within 48 hours after chemotherapy is finished. Chemotherapy drugs are found in the bloodstream and are excreted in body fluids, including urine, stool, vomit, tears, and saliva. When these chemotherapy drugs are excreted from your body, they can irritate your skin and can even cause damage to the skin of those around you. The bathroom is a very dangerous place for children and pets and requires special care. Therefore, during and up to 48 hours after chemotherapy, you need to do the following: 1. Flush the toilet twice after you use it, and cover it with a lid to prevent excrement from spilling. If possible, it is best to use a separate toilet during this period. 2, both men and women squat on the toilet to prevent splashing. 3.Be sure to wash your hands with warm water and soap after using the toilet, and dry them with paper towels. 4.If you vomit in the toilet, flush the toilet twice after vomiting. 5, such as vomiting in the basin, pouring vomit into the toilet must be careful to prevent splashing. Flush the toilet twice, then wash the basin with detergent and hot water, and pour the waste water into the toilet and flush it away. Dry the basin with paper towels. 6. When it is necessary to touch any bodily fluids that may be contaminated with chemotherapy drugs, the person taking care of you should wear disposable waterproof gloves. Even if you wear gloves, wash your hands with warm water and soap after cleaning. 7. If your caregiver accidentally comes into contact with your body fluids, the contact area should be washed carefully with warm water and soap immediately. Usually this contact does not cause any harm, but it should be avoided anyway. 8. Chemotherapy drugs can be excreted via salivary glands, so deep kissing and eating together should be avoided. Use disposable straws for drinks. Wash your used dishes carefully with detergent and warm water, soak them, and then wash them again with other dishes. 9. All clothes stained with bodily fluids should be washed separately in a washing machine. Ordinary detergent can be, wash twice with hot water. Do not use your hands, and do not mix with other clothes to wash. If you can’t wash it immediately, put it in a plastic bag and seal it. 10. All contaminated items that need to be thrown away, such as disposable gloves, diapers or sanitary napkins, etc., put them in plastic bags and seal them before throwing them away. They can be disposed of together with household garbage. 11.Chemotherapy drugs will also be excreted through semen and vaginal secretions. Please use condoms during sex.
