Do benign tumors have burrs?

Typically benign tumors do not have burrs, but in rare cases they may appear to have burrs.

Burr refers to the characterization of the edges of a mass or nodule on imaging. Generally, benign tumors have smooth, clear, and sharp edges, while tumors with fuzzy edges and burrs are more often seen in malignant tumors, but it cannot be said that tumors with burrs on the edges are definitely not benign tumors. In order to further clarify the benign or malignant nature of the tumor, pathological biopsy of the diseased tissue is usually required.

It is recommended that people who find tumors with burrs on the edges should keep a good mindset and actively cooperate with doctors to conduct examinations, clarify the diagnosis and take targeted measures.
