Focus on the psychological status and quality of life of post-operative cardiac patients

With the development of the biopsychosocial medical model, the concern is no longer only about the outcome of the surgery. The psychological state and quality of life before and after surgery have raised concerns Coronary artery bypass grafting coronaryarterybypassgraftingCABG is an effective method to improve myocardial ischemia and relieve angina. It is also an independent risk factor for postoperative mortality readmission and recurrent cardiac events affecting both quality of life and social functioning of patients. In our study, we found 61 patients: 20 (32.8%) positive patients before surgery, 10 of whom were depressed, 7 of whom were depressed and anxious, and 3 of whom were anxious. After surgery, there were 29 (47.5%) positive patients, 15 of whom were depressed, 12 of whom were depressed and anxious, and 2 of whom were anxious. Patients with depressive and anxiety states after surgery had significantly lower quality of life scores in the social functioning and mental health subscales than those without depressive and anxiety states. It is necessary to draw the attention of clinical surgeons in order to know the recovery of patients and improve the quality of life of patients after surgery.
