Centripetal obesity is a form of secondary obesity, associated with abnormal glucocorticoid levels in the body. Patients are mainly characterised by obesity in the heart area and abdomen, but also by abnormal obesity in the face, proximal extremities and trunk area, while the distal extremities are relatively thin.
