How to distinguish between circumcision and circumcision and whether surgery is needed

Every holiday season, many parents of students bring their children to the hospital to inquire about circumcision. In fact, phimosis and prepuce are common conditions among adolescent males, but they are easily overlooked due to the lack of knowledge among adolescents and negligent parental guidance.

Pseudocircumcision: Normally, the foreskin covers the glans, but it can be turned out with your hand to expose it. There are also pseudocircumcision where the glans is almost always covered when erect.

Ingrown prepuce: If the foreskin is forced to be turned out, and then there is a feeling of tightness, or if the foreskin feels painful when the glans is exposed, this is an ingrown prepuce. This tightness is called the “constriction ring”. For those who have a strong impaction of the constriction ring, the foreskin cannot be reset after being turned out, and in some cases, a swelling like a blister will appear under the glans.

True prepuce: If the foreskin cannot be opened during normal times or during erection, it is a true prepuce. If the condition persists, the glans and foreskin cannot be cleaned, and it can easily become a “breeding ground” for various diseases, and in serious cases, it can cause penile cancer. Of course, during sexual intercourse, it is difficult to make the woman pregnant because the semen cannot enter the vagina properly after ejaculation.

Circumcision and circumcision may not seem like major diseases, but they can still “cause trouble”, and sometimes the consequences can be very serious. For example, when the foreskin is too long or circumcised, urine is easy to accumulate in the foreskin, coupled with the foreskin, glans surface necrotic cells and secretion of mucus material, as well as the perineum bacteria invasion, in a warm and moist environment is very easy to form a white film-like material, commonly known as foreskin scale. If the foreskin scale is not clear for a long time, it will stimulate the foreskin and glans area, leading to diseases. For example, foreskin glansitis, induced penile cancer and so on. In addition, because the long foreskin has become a “natural barrier” between the glans and the outside world, so that the glans does not get stimulated by the outside world for a long time, so it is especially easy to have premature ejaculation during sex. The circumcision, on the other hand, affects the sexual life in adulthood because of its bondage to the glans; and when the degree of circumcision is not great, the glans can still be exposed, the narrow foreskin mouth may be stuck in the coronal groove of the penis like a ring, causing foreskin imbedding, resulting in local blood circulation disorders, which may cause serious consequences. In addition, circumcision and prepuce not only seriously endanger men’s health, foreskin scale enters the female vagina during sex, which can cause vaginitis and cervicitis in women, and prolonged stimulation may induce cervical cancer, so as to bring harm to women.

Whether or not the foreskin should be circumcised cannot be generalized. Due to factors such as religion, culture, custom and regional differences, doctors’ opinions vary from place to place. Circumcision is the most common, simple and practical surgery in urology, but improper treatment often causes some adverse consequences. We suggest that you choose some reliable and regular hospitals when you decide to treat. At present, our hospital uses cuff-like circumcision, which has a neat wound, fast recovery and light edema reaction after surgery. However, after circumcision surgery patients try to avoid eating spicy and stimulating things, while paying attention to hygiene to avoid wound inflammation, in addition to not having sex for 1 month.
