How can OCD be treated?

OCD is a group of neurological disorders with obsessive-compulsive symptoms (mainly including obsessive-compulsive ideas and compulsive behavior) as the main clinical manifestation. OCD is not uncommon in clinical practice. A survey in the United States showed that the prevalence of OCD is about 1%, and in 1982, a survey was conducted in 12 regions in China, and the results showed that the prevalence of OCD was 0.3 per 1,000. In fact, this figure is much lower than the actual prevalence rate. Combined with clinical practice, it is estimated that there are about 5-10 million people with OCD in China, with a prevalence rate of about 5‰-10‰. 80% of OCD develops before the age of 25, with more men than women. At present, the more effective methods for the treatment of OCD are mainly divided into three categories of psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy and surgical media treatment, the specific treatment methods are as follows: psychotherapy: supportive psychotherapy is the main, the compulsive action can be behavior therapy, the better the efficacy of the response blocking method. 1, psychodynamic therapy: This therapy emphasizes the analysis and interpretation of contradictions and conflicts between various psychological phenomena through epiphanies, changing emotional experiences and strengthening the ego, in order to achieve the purpose of treatment, in the process of treatment, the extensive use of interpretation, empathy analysis, self-association and self-reconstruction techniques. 2. Behavioral therapy: In the understanding of OCD, behavioral therapy is divided into four different treatment methods according to two different basic schools: first, treatment using the drive reduction model, of which the most commonly used is the systematic desensitization technique; second, the role model learning technique is also frequently used in the treatment of OCD, and like systematic desensitization, from the lowest level to the highest level, the therapist gradually demonstrates exposure to the Third, exposure therapy techniques have been used in the past few decades, especially to expose patients to imaginary or realistic anxiety situations, and the results are very good, but the treatment time is longer, about 2 hours. Fourth, exposure therapy can also be used in conjunction with the response blocking method, which is mainly used to reduce the frequency of ritualistic actions and compulsive ideas. 3. Family interpersonal therapy: This method emphasizes the interpersonal factor and avoids studying isolated individual behaviors. This idea focuses on studying the overall meaning of behavioral problems, and it emphasizes treating the patient while providing counseling to the patient’s family members. Medication: Anti-anxiety medication can reduce anxiety and help psychotherapy and behavioral treatment. Other therapies: electroconvulsive therapy is suitable for those with strong compulsive ideas and accompanied by strong negative emotions. For patients with stubborn symptoms, ineffective long-term treatment and extreme pain, psychosurgery can be tried.
