Feeding intolerance in preterm infants is a relatively common condition in preterm infants, which is caused by premature birth, immaturity of the baby’s gastrointestinal tract and lack of gastrointestinal power, resulting in a series of clinical manifestations that cannot tolerate the food fed to the baby. This kind of condition is sometimes difficult to deal with. The frequency of feedings may be reduced or the amount of feedings may be decreased or breast milk fortification may be added. Other causes of feeding intolerance include neonatal infections, apnea and other disease states, so controlling infections and other disease states is also a way to improve feeding intolerance.
