Pulmonary fibrosis is not well treated because there are no drugs that are clinically effective in treating pulmonary fibrosis. The main purpose of treatment is to reduce the patient’s pain and improve the quality of life, like nidanib and pirfenidone, which are more commonly used clinically, can slow down the deterioration of lung function and reduce the frequency of acute exacerbations to a certain extent, but the efficacy is to be further determined. For patients with pulmonary fibrosis, home oxygen therapy is recommended if there is significant hypoxemia, such as partial pressure of oxygen below 55 mmHg, and lung transplantation is currently the most effective treatment for pulmonary fibrosis.
