What to do if your baby has delayed language development

Delayed language development is caused by a variety of reasons that the child’s verbal ability or language comprehension is significantly behind the normal development level of children of the same age. Factors such as low intelligence, hearing impairment, organ disorders, central nervous system disorders, and poor language environment are common causes of speech delay. If a delayed language development is found, it is best to first go to the rehabilitation department of a children’s hospital to assess the current level of intelligence and language stage. If the intelligence level is in the normal range there are mainly the following methods: 1. The basic method for children to learn language is imitation: the focus is on imitating the speech of others, and parents are best involved in training. Therefore, adults should talk to children more often, train them to imitate the language pronunciation of adults, and encourage them to speak and learn to express their requirements in words. 2, give more stimulation to prompt the child to speak: parents should mobilize the interest and enthusiasm of the baby to speak. 3, let the child more exposure to society and nature: more exposure to society and nature will enrich the child’s life, the eyes are wide open, see a wide range of knowledge, naturally have the requirement to speak. If combined with language training, the child’s language skills will be well developed accordingly.
