High blood pressure just after waking up in the morning

It is a relatively common phenomenon to wake up with high blood pressure in the morning. Influenced by the body’s hormone secretion, most patients will have two peak periods of blood pressure in the morning at 6-8 am and in the afternoon at 5-7 pm. For patients with high blood pressure after waking up in the morning, it is recommended to take oral antihypertensive medication early in the morning after waking up, and not to get up immediately after taking the medication, but to lie flat for 30 minutes to one hour before getting up and moving around. Pay attention to blood pressure monitoring, usually monitor blood pressure in the morning and afternoon, and if necessary, do a 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure check to further adjust antihypertensive drugs according to the pattern of blood pressure changes over time.
