The course of antibiotic application for bronchopneumonia is in the range of 7-14 days, and the course of antibiotics for treatment is chosen according to the condition of each patient. For patients with mild pneumonia, if there is only coughing and sputum without chest tightness, chest pain, or dyspnea, and the blood count indicates a mild high level of bacterial infection, it is recommended that a broad-spectrum antibiotic, such as a third-generation cephalosporin or a quinolone antibiotic, be used for 7-10 days. If the symptoms are very serious, such as severe respiratory distress, oxygen and ventilator application are required, and the course of antibiotics needs to be changed or upgraded for more than 14 days, if necessary.
