The first time the patient has a seizure, he or she will be able to maintain a normal posture. 1, dystonic seizures Dystonic seizures, also known as inactive seizures, are manifested by patients with sudden onset of transient loss of muscle tone, unable to maintain a normal posture. The clinical symptoms of the patient are different depending on the site of involvement, such as only loss of cervical muscle tone, which is manifested by sudden head bowing. Loss of calf tone may be associated with knee flexion. When standing, if the whole body muscle tone is lost, the child may suddenly fall down, like a “broken puppet”. Disorders of consciousness are brief or not obvious. The child may wake up immediately after the seizure and stand up immediately. Sometimes there may be continuous seizures and multiple injuries on the torso. It is often accompanied by myoclonic and tonic seizures, and the child is prone to hypo-intelligence. 2. Simple partial seizures During partial seizures, the patient is clearly conscious and interacts well with the outside world. The symptoms can be twitching of one hand or one foot, or strange sensations in part of the body. Infantile nodding spasms usually occur in infants within 2 years of age. When the infant wakes up or goes to sleep, he or she will nod his or her head, similar to dozing, but usually more than a dozen times in a row, even when lying in bed. 4.Panic tonic seizure The patient’s consciousness is completely confused, and will fall to the ground and be vulnerable to injury; it takes several minutes from the loss of consciousness to awakening, and there are often uncontrollable spasms in the limbs and face. 5. Myoclonic seizure Myoclonic seizure is a rapid involuntary muscle twitching, due to the rapid speed, the patient often shows electrocution-like movements. 6.Absorbed seizure The patient’s ongoing behavior or activity suddenly stops, as if the video tape was pressed the “pause” button. The seizure usually ends after a few seconds or 30 seconds. The original paused behavior may continue again. Sometimes the seizure is combined with blinking, chewing, and other movements.
