Elderly lung cancer patients are often worried that age factor makes it difficult for them to receive chemotherapy, but what is the influence of age factor? A large amount of research data at home and abroad show that age is not an independent prognostic factor. For elderly patients with suitable conditions, the opportunity of chemotherapy should not be easily given up. However, pre-treatment patient functional status (PS) influences the prognosis of patients as an independent factor in multifactorial analysis. Based on several clinical studies at home and abroad, the choice of chemotherapy regimen for advanced lung cancer with good physical functional status does not have to consider the age factor, and platinum-based chemotherapy should be considered for patients aged 70-75 years without obvious synergistic lethal factors.
