What happens in pancreatitis?

Patients with pancreatitis usually present with upper abdominal pain, and untimely or incomplete treatment may cause a variety of serious complications. Pancreatitis can be categorized as acute or chronic, as described below.
1. Acute pancreatitis is characterized by a rapid onset of illness, serious illness, many complications, and a high mortality rate. Patients have persistent severe abdominal pain and are often accompanied by multiple organ dysfunction and failure. Most patients with mild disease have a good prognosis, but a few patients with severe disease can be accompanied by local pancreatic complications and high mortality.
2. Chronic pancreatitis patients’ abdominal pain is often recurring, often accompanied by pancreatic secretory insufficiency, active treatment can relieve symptoms, but it is not easy to cure. Complications commonly include pseudocysts, bile duct or duodenal obstruction.
If pancreatitis patients have obvious discomfort symptoms, they should go to the hospital in time to identify the cause of the disease, and actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment.
