What are the dangers of atrial fibrillation?

Atrial fibrillation has three major hazards: cerebral infarction (stroke), heart failure and reduced quality of life, in addition to the mortality rate of patients with atrial fibrillation is two times higher than that of the normal population. 1. In patients with atrial fibrillation, because the atria lose their full and effective ejection function, blood tends to stagnate in the atria, which in turn forms thrombi that can cause embolism in various parts of the body, such as the brain (stroke, hemiplegia), limbs (severe cases even require amputation), and intestines (abdominal pain, blood in the stool). More than 80% of the severe cerebral infarcts seen in neurology are caused by atrial fibrillation. 2, loss of atrial systolic function and prolonged increase in heart rate in atrial fibrillation can lead to heart enlargement and then heart failure. 3.Fast heart rate and irregular heart rhythm in atrial fibrillation can make patients feel palpitations, chest tightness, dizziness, and even fainting, which seriously affects the quality of life.
