Esophageal cancer is a relatively common malignant tumor of the digestive system, and the survival period of patients is short after the development to the middle and late stages, with the 5-year survival rate not exceeding 5%. When esophageal cancer reaches the middle and late stage, it may show heavy symptoms of feeding obstruction, which can be confirmed by gastroscopy and then pathological examination. If it is the middle stage of esophageal cancer, together with the surgical treatment method, the patient’s condition can be controlled. However, most patients may have recurrence 1-2 years after surgery, and the 5-year survival rate is not more than 5%. If esophageal cancer develops to advanced stage and patients are unable to have surgery and can only consider palliative radiotherapy, patients’ survival may be only 10-12 months. In addition, since the main symptom of esophageal cancer is progressive choking, most patients cannot eat, resulting in progressively worse nutritional status, which in turn will aggravate the disease and shorten the survival period. Therefore, regardless of the stage of esophageal cancer, patients need to actively treat and try to achieve early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment in order to effectively prolong the survival time of patients.
