Does chronic pelvic inflammatory disease heal on its own?

  Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is the sequelae of an acute attack of pelvic inflammatory disease, often due to untimely or incomplete diagnosis and treatment; the pathology is characterized by tissue destruction, extensive adhesions, hyperplasia and scar formation, and once the disease is formed, it is irreversible, with clinical manifestations of infertility, tubal pregnancy, chronic pelvic pain, and recurrent pelvic inflammatory disease. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is difficult to heal on its own, and treatment for it at this stage is very limited and not ideal. Clinical treatment is mainly symptomatic according to different symptoms: for example, laparoscopic opening, recanalization and cystoplasty for hydrosalpinx, obstruction and atresia of the fallopian tubes; and assisted reproduction IVF-ET (in vitro fertilization) for infertility.  Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease is difficult to heal on its own, causing great distress to women’s daily life and couples to nurture the next generation, and there is no effective way to treat it. We should pay attention to the early diagnosis and treatment of pelvic inflammatory disease: as long as the minimum diagnostic criteria are met (cervical pain or uterine pressure or pain in the adnexal area) and other factors are excluded from lower abdominal pain, broad-spectrum, adequate antibiotic treatment is required, and if the results are not good, timely surgical treatment, as well as treatment of sexual partners.  2, fully understand the high-risk factors, pay attention to the etiology of prevention: young women aged 15-25 years old; young age of first intercourse, multiple sexual partners, too frequent intercourse; lower genital tract infection; several times after the operation of uterine surgery; poor sexual hygiene; appendicitis, peritonitis inflammation spread; low immune function, overwork, stress, smoking, etc.
