Anthocyanin-rich pro, small food with big effect

Foods rich in anthocyanins include blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes, and dragon fruit. Not only are they tart and delicious, they also have certain anti-cancer properties.

One study found that anthocyanins inhibited the growth of lung cancer in mice, inhibited tumor production of new blood vessels, and could directly cause tumor cell death. In addition, anthocyanins may also reduce the risk of thrombosis. As we know, tumor patients are a group especially prone to thrombosis, and even many lung cancer patients die from embolism rather than from tumor, so substances with both anti-tumor and anti-thrombotic effects become especially important. So lung cancer patients can eat more of these types of anthocyanin-rich foods as appropriate.
