How much do you know about the types of penile erections? The following may be a bit specialized, so learn about it briefly. Penis erection under different circumstances can be divided into three major categories. 1.Psychological erection The erection caused by the different sensory organs of a person feeling various stimuli in the environment is called psychological erection. The mechanism of its occurrence is that people, through various ways such as sight, sound, smell, taste, touch and thought imagination, excite the relevant areas of the cerebral cortex, and through the efferent nerves of the parasympathetic nerve center of the sacral segment of the spinal cord, distribute from the internal pubic nerve and sacral plexus to the erectile tissue of the penis, regulate the spiral arteries and smooth muscles in the corpus cavernosum, and prompt the erection of the penis. 2.Reflex erection The erection of the penis caused by exteroceptive stimulation of the genital region and endoceptive stimulation of the pelvic organs is called reflex erection. The stimulation of afferent nerves reaches the sacral segment of the spinal cord, causing parasympathetic excitation, which on the one hand uploads to the cerebral cortex and generates awareness, and on the other hand, directly transmits down to the smooth muscles and spiral arteries of the penile corpus cavernosum, causing them to enter the erectile function state. Psychogenic and reflex erections often act synergistically, but can also exist independently. Psychological stimuli can inhibit and impede reflex stimuli, with the thoracolumbar spinal cord primarily responsible for psychological erections and the sacral spinal cord primarily responsible for both psychological and reflex erections. 3. Nocturnal erection The phenomenon of erection of the penis during sleep in infants and adult males is nocturnal erection. Studies have shown that nocturnal erections may be related to the stage of sleep. During 8 hours of sleep, light sleep and deep sleep occur every two hours, with four iterations. Light sleep is 20-25 minutes and deep sleep is about 90 minutes. When going in for light sleep, penile erection can occur. Therefore, a regular male can have 4-6 penile erections per night, which can last for about 20 minutes each time. If you wake up early in the morning in a light sleep, you can have what is called a morning erection. Understanding these different erection mechanisms is mainly to tell you that there are many men who show erectile dysfunction in fact most of them have no organic problems, as long as one of these three erections can be completed it is enough to prove that there is no major problem with erection and you can relax.
