Paste prescription is one of the traditional Chinese medicine dosage forms, which is a personalized prescription based on the identification of each individual’s constitution and condition. Paste prescription has two main effects: tonic and toning and treatment and prevention of diseases. Usually, poultice prescriptions are made by doctors who are familiar with the condition, based on prescriptions of herbs with good therapeutic effects, and are collected with tonic gum and honey, rock sugar, etc. It is easy to take without the trouble of decoction. Paste is suitable for the adjustment of chronic diseases, the elderly and sub-health states. It is especially convenient for patients who are unable to decoct their own herbs. Patients with infertility, sexual dysfunction, prostate disease, and recurrent urinary tract infections are all suitable groups for the adjustment of poultices. Infertility patients, in particular, are especially suitable for taking poultice treatment because of the long treatment period and relatively fixed prescription. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that poultices can be taken in all seasons, and now it has evolved into a winter tonic method.
