Etiology of rapid heart rate in hypertension

Fast heart rate in hypertension is mainly caused by poor blood pressure control. Patients with hypertension experience an increased heart rate due to increased sympathetic excitability when blood pressure is high. Metoprolol or bisoprolol is the preferred treatment for hypertensive patients with rapid heart rate, which can lower the heart rate while lowering blood pressure. Rapid heart rate in hypertensive patients may also be combined with hyperthyroidism, or with inflammation, infection, fever, electrolyte disturbance, anemia, etc. If the heart rate is accelerated due to other factors such as hyperthyroidism or anemia, fever, etc., treatment is needed for the primary disease, and after the primary disease is cured, the heart rate can be restored to a normal state.
