Resetting criteria for tibial fractures in children

The criteria for the repositioning of tibial fractures in children: first, there must be no rotational displacement, no separation displacement, no displacement perpendicular to the angle of the fracture and the direction of knee movement, and the fracture must be aligned at least 1/3 of the way to the line. In the case of tibial epiphyseal fractures, due to the special nature of children, anatomical repositioning is required before the bone scale is closed, so that there is no significant impact on the child’s daily growth and development. In addition, shortening deformity in children can be allowed up to 2 cm, which can be corrected gradually through daily growth and development; more than 2 cm will have lameness.
