What are the studies on H. pylori

  H. pylori (Hp) was first identified by Australian scholars such as Warren in 1982, for which they were awarded the Nobel Prize. 2003 consensus pointed out that Hp is associated with the development of chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, gastric cancer, gastric MALT lymphoma, gastroesophageal reflux disease and functional dyspepsia, and is even its dangerous causative factor. Gastroscopic laboratory tests for Hp(+) should be combined with PPI or bismuth + antimicrobials for a course of preferably two weeks. In case of drug resistance, tetracycline furazolidone etc. may be used as appropriate, but attention should be paid to adverse effects. If continuous treatment is unsuccessful, Hp eradication therapy should be performed after an interval. The Chinese herbal medicines Yanhuosuo, Bupleurum, Triphala, Phyllanthus, Dandelion, Erzhu, Poria, Job’s Tears, Chaihu, Yujin, Aromatic Herb, Lily, and Wu Lingli, etc. regulate qi and stomach, clear damp-heat, dredge liver and spleen, activate blood circulation and remove blood stasis, and the Chinese patent medicine Jing Hua Gastrodia may improve patients’ compliance with treatment and improve symptoms and condition.
