How to deal with cancer pain?

Pain is the most common symptom of cancer patients during their survival period, which seriously affects the quality of patients’ survival. Cancer pain is the most complicated pain problem. Pain weakens the body’s ability to resist disease and accelerates the growth of tumors. Persistent unrelieved cancer pain can significantly shorten the survival time of patients. In the treatment of cancer, controlling cancer pain is as important as surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The most common method of treating cancer pain is the pharmacological three-step therapy implemented by WHO, which can bring pain relief to about 70%-90% of patients. However, cancer pain in the progressive stage of cancer is difficult to treat because of the destruction of body structures and nerve damage, and some patients have satisfactory pain relief when they are inactive. Some patients have unbearable side effects after taking drugs. For such patients, comprehensive treatment methods of pain medicine such as minimally invasive intervention can be used.
