Tumor patients are psychophysiologically fragile, especially when they are just diagnosed, it is difficult for patients and their family members to accept, and they don’t know about the treatment process, side effects, and treatment effects. Most of the patients have adverse psychological reactions such as fear, doubt, helplessness, and nervousness to radiotherapy, and with the emergence of uncomfortable reactions during the treatment, the patients are more likely to be pessimistic and disappointed, and to lose their confidence in the treatment. Therefore, psychological treatment and nursing care should be carried out throughout the treatment process. First of all, the nurse should take the initiative to care for and comfort the patients when they are admitted to the hospital, introduce the environment of the hospital room, introduce the competent doctors and nurses, eliminate the strangeness and tension of the patients, alleviate the fear of hospitalization of the patients, help the patients make friends with the patients, instruct the family members to give them a strong support in their spirit and life, and according to the actual situation of the patients on the basis of accepting the diagnosis of the tumor, explain to the patients the medical knowledge of the disease, such as Clinical manifestations, characteristics of radiotherapy, toxic side effects and precautions in radiotherapy, and inform that the adverse effects can be prevented and alleviated, and the effects vary from person to person, so there is no need to be too nervous and fearful about radiotherapy. Let the patients keep a calm mind before radiotherapy, be well prepared, understand the possible local or systemic reactions during radiotherapy and the ways to cope with the adverse reactions, try their best to cooperate during radiotherapy, and strengthen nutrition and pay attention to rest after radiotherapy. When dealing with patients’ psychological problems, patients should be treated individually according to their age, education level, knowledge of the disease, attitude and fear reaction. We should communicate more with patients and patiently listen to patients and their families, understand and clarify the reasons for patients’ anxiety and fear, and let patients eliminate their suppressed emotions by telling them; timely grasp the psychological changes of patients and the various adverse reactions of radiotherapy, care for the patients and relieve their pain in a timely manner, so as to make them set up the confidence of overcoming the disease, and actively cooperate with the treatment and care in a good state of mind and a stable mood to get through the reaction period of treatment and adhere to the whole treatment. We will make them set up confidence to overcome the disease, cooperate with treatment and care positively with a good mindset and stable emotion, pass through the treatment reaction period smoothly, and adhere to the whole treatment.
